Here are some answers to some commonly asked questions about Colleen Weber CPA, LLC. If you don’t find your questions answered here, please feel free to reach out to our office and we will be happy to speak with you.
As a fee-only financial advisory firm, our only compensation comes from the services we provide to you. We do not get paid any commissions, kickbacks, “trails,” or any fees other than the fee we charge you.
The fee for Wealth Management Services is a flat annual fee. It’s paid directly from your accounts under our management at Schwab on a quarterly basis. The fee is set based on the complexity of your situation, the overall value of your portfolio, and the level of advice required for your situation. This fee structure allows us to align our interests with yours.
Part of being a CPA and financial advisor is managing our own expenses. Other advisory firms pass on substantial overhead costs to their clients by charging a percentage of assets. We’ve worked hard to reduce our overhead expenses and pass those savings on to you.
We also save you money through our recommended investments, which have an average annual expense of less than 0.10%. The average equity mutual fund expense is 1.3% in comparison. Those major savings could contribute to your comfortable retirement.
As fee-only fiduciary advisors, we act in your best interests—not our own. Charging a flat fee reinforces our promise to put your needs at the forefront by avoiding the conflict of interest associated with charging a percentage of assets. A flat fee also speaks to the importance of financial planning combined with investment management.
To us a fiduciary is more than just a legal or ethical obligation; it’s the fundamental value that Colleen Weber CPA, LLC was built upon. It’s our oath to place your interests ahead of our compensation or other considerations—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
With Colleen Weber CPA, LLC, you’re not just working with a “tax-informed” financial advisor with a passing understanding of tax laws. You’re working with a CPA and financial advisor in one. As part of our wealth management service, we prepare your personal tax returns, which means we’re thoroughly familiar with your specific tax situation. We use that in-depth knowledge to integrate tax mitigation strategies seamlessly with your financial plan so it’s never an afterthought. This approach has helped us save our clients from substantial tax liabilities over many years, and even across generations.
We take on a limited number of clients to aid in developing close relationships with the families and individuals we help. Our high-touch approach keeps you in the loop through each step of the process.
We foster an environment with open communication, transparency, and active listening to provide the personalized attention you deserve. Whether you need to discuss a new decision, ask questions, or talk through the plan, we make ourselves available through phone, email, and written communication.
